Bill Merritt

Bill plays a pivotal role at Velico as Chief Operating Officer, including oversight of our development program and managing our relationship with the Bio Medical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA).

He is a research and development leader with proven track record in building and leading design and manufacturing teams in the development of physiological patient monitoring systems and high-performance power conversion products. Bill is proficient in all aspects of product development and manufacturing (design, reliability, verification, production, and applications engineering). He has extensive experience in managing technical development teams as well as program managing cross functional teams.

Over the course of his career he has developed over 150 products for the medical, defence, networking, and telecommunications industries. Bill’s expertise includes knowledge of IEC 60601-1; has extensive experience in low to high volume manufacturing processes, supplier management and contract manufacturing.

Bill has over 30 years of experience with companies including Draeger Medical, Power-One , Emerson Network Power and Raytheon. Bill holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Merrimack College.
